Experience one of nature’s most delicate moments, as a monarch butterfly circles around an aster bloom.

What a joy to spot this splendid creature! Delicate and graceful, the gorgeous monarch butterfly flits from one plant to the next, dancing merrily through the sky in search of the perfect flower—like the standout bloom on this coin’s interactive reverse. A monarch butterfly may travel up to 5,000 kilometres during its two-way migration, an astounding feat for one so small and fragile! It truly is a wonder to observe, both in nature and on this fine silver movement coin, as it selects one special flower out of the millions it has passed over.

Tilt the coin to make the monarch fly–the moment is fleeting and full of magic.
Your coin’s reverse features two 3D elements that have each been cast in sterling silver (92.5% pure): a rose-gold plated aster flower, and a gold-plated monarch butterfly (this is the species’ first appearance on a movement coin).
Tilt the coin and watch as the gravity-activated monarch circles around the aster flower. Both feature an incredible number of details – just look at the monarch’s wing pattern.

Monnaie de Paris pays tribute to the major masterpieces of French museums or having been painted in France.

The obverse represent Salvador Dali's famous masterpiece "The Persistence of Memory". The "Museum Masterpiece" stamp that defines this series has been added at the bottom right and blends with the work. In the background, the front of Beaubourg, where Salvador Dali has been the subject of several exhibitions, most recently in 2013, has been depicted. The name of the work and that of the artist also complete the decoration. The year 2021 appears on the left.

The reverse is common to the series. It depicts several views of many major French museums. An interior view of the Musée d’Orsay, on the top left, is recognizable by its distinctive clock. Beside that is a view of the façade of the Louvre as seen from the Napoleon courtyard where the pyramid is located. Below these two elements, a fresco shows the Hôtel Salé, which houses the Picasso Museum. The lower portion of the reverse side features a view of the façade of Hôtel Biron, the current Rodin Museum, and above, the famous Centre Pompidou stairway. The face value and the words “République Française” are also inscribed on the reverse side.

As the King of the gods, Zeus‘ connection with Leo is appropriate as it is the "king of the Zodiac signs". The connection gains a lot more weight in mythology: Zeus is closely associated with Helios, perhaps even more so than Apollo, as Helios is referred as "the eye of Zeus" and is referred as Zeus in his own Orphic hymn. Aether (the primordial light that illumines the Heavens) is "Zeus' power", and his role as the god of civilization, justice and law is very similar to that of sun gods like Shamash and Ra (Apollo also shares these traits, as he too is a god of justice and law). Zeus is outright referred as the Sun in some particular Greco-roman religious traditions like Pythagorean philosophy, where he is the supramundane Sun of the Olympians. As the Sun symbolizes the center, so is Leo's position in the Zodiac indicative.

We all had a childhood friend, right? The red-haired girl and best friend the playful monkey. This girl is always cheerful and invites us to immerse ourselves in the joy of daily discoveries, which we tend to forget when we become adults. Girl and her monkey like to go on fun child trips and learn new things and encounter new experiences every day. This coin can therefore be a perfect birthday present for a child, or a present to celebrate the start of a new academic year, or an original idea to celebrate a baptism.
