As marigolds turn their heads to follow the trajectory of the sun from east to west, they suggest things are moving forward. Marigolds encompass numerous plants from entirely different species, the two most common being Calendula and Tagetes. They both belong to the Asteraceae family, are easily mistaken for one another and have many common properties. Conveniently, the two species also have the same basic meanings in the language of flowers, many of which focus on positivity and patience.
