Commemorating the 90th anniversary of the Sidney Harbour Bridge. The Sydney Harbour Bridge spans a width of just over 48m and a total length of 1,149m – uniting Sydney’s CBD and North Shore. 52,800 tonnes of steel to be exact, construction began in 1923 and was completed 8 years later having used 272000 litres of paint! The four, 89-meter-high, pylons of the bridge used around 17,000 cubic meters of granite blocks quarried near the town of Moruya and transported to Sydney using specially built ships! Not camera shy, this famous landmark is visible from almost every corner of the city and is one of the most photographed examples of architecture in the world.

With this stunning shaped coin, CIT combines the symbol of a scarab beetle with one of the most famous Pharaohs to ever live, Tutankhamun. His tomb opening celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2022.

In ancient Egyptian religion, the god Ra whose eye is also depicted on the obverse together with the Ankh or Key of Life, rolls the sun across the sky each day, transforming bodies and souls.

Scarab beetles roll dung into a ball. Because of this symbolically similar action, the scarab was seen as a reflection of the heavenly cycle and was representing the idea of rebirth or regeneration. In ancient Egyptian religion, the scarab was also a symbol of immortality, resurrection, transformation and protection much used in funerary art.

Over the ages, scarabs have been used to symbolize wealth, as currency, fashion accessory and also to serve as a form of artistic expression.

Thanks to the enhanced smartminting® technology this is a numismatic piece of art in a 1 oz silver ultra-high relief with an integrated crystal from Swarovski. It is decorated with two names of Tutankhamun in hieroglyphene style his own individual name and his title as a Pharaoh which was also found on his throne when it was discovered 100 years ago.

If you want everlasting protection or just a nice meaningful gift. This shaped scarab beetle coin will be both.

Born in Brixton, South London, in 1947, David Bowie began life as David Robert Jones. By the time he was 19 he had taken on his iconic name and was taking the first steps in one of the most innovative and influential careers in the history of sound and vision. His music electrified generations, and his perpetual state of reinvention kept music fans enthralled.

The third coin in our Music Legends collection celebrates rock’s definitive chameleon with a design inspired by an image of the singer from his time spent living and recording in Berlin. The inclusion of the lightning bolt motif from the Aladdin Sane era captures Bowie’s career journey, and the moment he finally put aside the props to emerge as an artist in his own right.

Available as limited-edition precious metal Proof editions and a standard Brilliant Uncirculated edition, the Brilliant Uncirculated edition is also available with three different slipcase covers, exclusively available from The Royal Mint and are a fitting tribute to the career of one of British music’s most enduring icons.
