As we focus our attention on commemorating the reign of Queen Elizabeth II (1952-2022), the Mint will not be issuing any 2023-dated Canadian circulation coins featuring both the traditional reverse designs and an obverse featuring Queen Elizabeth II.
Each coin’s obverse is double-dated (“1952-2022”) to commemorate the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.

This year’s Annual Sets notably feature Martin Jennings’ definitive effigy of His Majesty The King for the first time.

In 2022 we kicked off the series with the element Earth and in 2023 The Netherlands continue with the element ‘Water’.The Annual Set will be launched first in BU Quality. These are the coins that are minted with the new stamp. This makes them extra shiny. The Annual Set 2023 in BU Quality contains all eight shimmery euro coins of 2023. This collection includes the circulating coins issued in 2024, minted with coin blanks and dies specially treated to obtain Brilliant Uncirculated quality.

The collection includes the 2-euro commemorative coin dedicated this year to Sevilla, continuing the theme started in 2010 for 2-euro commemorative coins to commemorate properties and places included on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
