It sparkles like the turquoise waters of Lake Louise. Throughout history, aquamarine was believed to protect seafarers and guarantee a safe voyage. For those born in this first month of spring, March's icy blue birthstone is said to bring courage, calmness and hope. Flanked by three smaller Swarovski® crystals and surrounded by a Celtic art-inspired design, the colourful Swarovski® crystal at the centre is a token of good fortune—not just in your birthday month, but for the whole year. And with the help of a bezel kit (not included), your coin will easily become a cherished piece of jewellery that expresses who you are.
Do you need to find a gift for someone born in March? Then order this gorgeous coin!

The reverse design by artist Pandora Young is an intersection of art and mathematics, and features a stylized pattern arranged according to the base-six system. Inspired by the Celtic triskele, the engraved art incorporates three clear Swarovski® crystals into our birthstone celebration of those born in May ( emerald), as represented by the gem-like Swarovski® crystal at the centre of the coin. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.

The coin is encapsulated and presented in a Royal Canadian Mint-branded clamshell with a black beauty box.

While Iris versicolor can be found in marshes and along shorelines in central and eastern Canada, it has special meaning in the province of Quebec. This violet-blue wildflower is synonymous with wetlands, rivers and lakes in La belle province, where the provincial emblem blooms between late May and early July. Quebec was one of the first four Canadian provinces established by the British North America Act (Confederation) in 1867. And that's why its provincial flower is our second coin in our vintage jewellery-inspired Floral Emblems of Canada series. And, your coin's reverse features a colourful depiction of the blue flag iris, which gained official status as the floral emblem of Quebec in 1999.
A gorgeous gift of Quebec's beautiful blue flag iris for that special someone. Order today.

Celebrating US Independence History

• New technical feat High Relief on both sides

Starting in 2020, Monnaiede Paris will retrace the history of American Independence through a collectionof coins. The designs of the coins are directly inspired by historical productspublished by Monnaiede Paris: old medals from our archives. This sub-theme is part of the Great Dates of Humanity theme which began in 2019 with the fall of the Berlin Wall, the First Step on the Moon and the Dday.

In 2020, Monnaie de Paris began the series “History of US Independency" with the arrival of La Fayette in Boston. This year, we have decided to represent the arrival of Washington in Boston.

On the obverse, an undraped bust of George Washington facing right. Below the bust is the artist's name, "DuvivierParis F".

The engraving is taken from an old medalstruck by Monnaie de Paris, which gives the coin authenticity.
At the bottom of the coin is inscribed"COMITIA AMERICANA", which in Latin means "The American Congress". All around the coin, the inscription "GEORGIO WASHINGTONSVMPREMO DVCI EXERCITVVM ADSERTORI LIBERTATIS" is present, which can betranslated as "The American Congress to George Washington,General-in-Chief of the armies, the defender of freedom".

On the reverse side, we can see Washington, on Dorchester Heights, leading its four officers on horsebacktowards the city of Boston. To the right of the coin are a fort, cannons and cannonballs lying on the ground. Washington points to the British ships fleeingthe city.

At the top of the coin, the inscription"HOSTIBUS PRIMO FUGATIS" can be translated as "For the firsttime, the enemies are on the run »

At the bottom, we can see the inscription"BOSTONIUM RECUPERATUM / XVII MARTI / MDCCLXXVI" which can betranslated as "Boston taken over on March 17,1776".

The year 2021 as well as the Mintzmarkare visible at the bottom of the reverse.
