As culture carriers and a means of communication, coins function as a sort of time capsules. The Annual Sets The Netherlands from 2023 are therefore linked to (inter)national and personal milestones of this year. From 2022 to 2025, the Annual Sets from the National Collection® are devoted to the four elements: earth, water, air and fire. In nature, these elements are linked to the seasons that determine our annual rhythm. In 2022 we kicked off the series with the element Earth and in 2023 The Netherlands continue with the element ‘Water’.The Annual Set will be launched first in BU Quality. These are the coins that are minted with the new stamp. This makes them extra shiny. The Annual Set 2023 in BU Quality contains all eight shimmery euro coins of 2023. In 2025, the Lancôme House is celebrated for its 90th anniversary.

Monnaie de Paris and Lancôme are both members of Comité Colbert. They share a reputation for excellence, built over time through the quality of their creations. Each House has a deep-rooted vocation to perpetuate its know-how, while looking to the future and always seeking to innovate.

On this denomination, like a flower in full bloom in spring, Joaquin Jimenez's rose expresses itself in full voulume. The finesse of the engraving details is sublimated in this high relief cut, a jewel in its own right.

The obverse of the coin represents a pure rose, with its supple and delicate corolla. Nine petals, referring to the 90th anniversary celebrated by the collection, surround a polished heart. The latter is circled by a Ô, label of Lancôme, highlighted by its brightness on the pulp of the petals. With this design, Joaquin Jimenez offers his vision of the emblematic rose of the brand: a modern, sleek and warm flower.

On the reverse, the same petals tell the different know-how of Lancôme. Three motifs cover the body of the flower, they embody the three universes of the brand: perfume, makeup and skincare. On one side, blooming roses, as they could be found one the bush, are reminiscent of nature and of the raw materials used in products. On a different side, the embossing found in the powder and the make-up palette is reminded by a thin guilloché, a motif that symbolises the work of men and know-how. The three last petals are engraved with waves that take the shape of a smile, like the iconic perfume of the brand: La Vie est Belle. These also remind the shape of a ricochet on water, evoking fluidity, and the Absolue skincare. Right in the centre of the rose, the Ô, as if it were obvious, establishes the link between the stages of the story depicted on the petals.

Lancôme has stood out as the house of prestige and innovation since its creation in 1935 by visionary perfumer Armand Petitjean. As a great lover of roses, he made them a symbol of the brand. He chose the name Lancôme as an echo of the majestic Château de Lancosme and the timeless elegance of Place Vendôme, the symbol of French excellence. For almost a century, Lancôme has cultivated a unique know-how in the art of perfume, make-up and skincare, constantly pushing forward the frontiers of science and innovation. Lancôme's mission is to reveal every women’s inner beauty. Much more than cosmetics, Lancôme offers an experience and an invitation to reveal one’s unique and captivating beauty.
