The most beautiful avenue in the World.

Linking the Concorde Place to the Arc of Triumph, the Champs-Elysées Avenue stretches over nearly 2 km in the heart of Paris. In the 17th century, Le Nôtre, Louis XIV's gardener, laid the first stones in this marshy area. It was then part of the ascent of what is known as "the most beautiful avenue in the world".
One of the must-see places to visit in Paris, the most beautiful avenue in the world welcomes about 300,000 visitors a day. The Champs-Elysées Avenue is full of culture and activities. You can admire the monuments, go shopping or vibrate during events. Every year, the avenue hosts the 14th July parade, the arrival of the Tour de France or the Christmas illuminations.
The Champs-Elysées are as lively by day as by night. Restaurants, shops, monuments and clubs are all jewels to be discovered and make this avenue a myth. To end the visit in beauty, the ascent of the Arc of Triumph offers a spectacular panoramic view of Paris.

The obverse shows a view of the Champs-Elysées towards the Arc of Triumph. In order to highlight Paris as a city of light, the most beautiful avenue in the world has been represented at night, when its trees are adorned with Christmas lights. The flame of the unknown soldier, which celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2020, shines at the foot of the Arc of Triumph. The Concorde obelisk is visible in the foreground and shows the angle of the shot.
In order to magnify this collection, the coins are decorated with selective gold deposits highlighting the illuminations.

The reverse is the common reverse of the Paris’ Treasures series. It offers a modern view of the map of Paris and its districts represented by small pyramids. Above the map of Paris is the name of the series. Below, the face value and the vintage are shown.

One of the world’s leading opera, theatre and classical music festivals, the Salzburg Festival celebrates its centenary in 2020. Featuring opera, theatre and classical concerts, the Salzburg Festival offers a broader spectrum of cultural variety than any other. To celebrate this major cultural event, which is constantly in the process of reinventing itself, we have come up with a particularly innovative coin design.

On 22 August 1920, the director Max Reinhardt staged Hugo von Hofmannsthal’s morality play Jedermann in Salzburg’s Domplatz (Cathedral Square) for the first time and in doing so

founded the Salzburg Festival. Since 1926, the play has been a permanent feature of the festival programme, a tradition interrupted only during the Nazi regime. Those who stage or direct Jedermann in Salzburg’s Domplatz have reached the pinnacle of their career.

In addition to Max Reinhardt and Hugo von Hofmannsthal, the composer Richard Strauss was also involved in the founding of this magnificent celebration of the performing arts, which did not take long to become established and achieve world renown. At Salzburg, the best is often not good enough. This gives the festival cultural relevance, which comes from its strength of tradition but also allows new directions to be explored and puts the avant-garde centre stage. This very special centenary coin is avant-garde itself. With an obverse that has the appearance of a plate with a flat inner part, a coin of this type has never been minted before. We believe it does the Salzburg Festival justice.

Tri means "three" in Latin and Greek, and it is the number of petals, sepals and leaves (bracts) that form each white trillium (Trillium grandiflorum). Ontario's odourless provincial flower is a spectacular sight in late April through May, when it blooms en masse and blankets the forest floor. Canada's most populous province was one of the first to enter Confederation in 1867, and that's why its floral emblem is the first one featured in our 13-coin series. Ontario officially adopted its floral emblem in 1937 with the passing of the Floral Emblem Act, and based on a recommendation made by a special committee of horticulturalists.
A gorgeous gift for that special someone who loves flowers and jewellery.

Born in Brixton, South London, in 1947, David Bowie began life as David Robert Jones. By the time he was 19 he had taken on his iconic name and was taking the first steps in one of the most innovative and influential careers in the history of sound and vision. His music electrified generations, and his perpetual state of reinvention kept music fans enthralled.

The third coin in our Music Legends collection celebrates rock’s definitive chameleon with a design inspired by an image of the singer from his time spent living and recording in Berlin. The inclusion of the lightning bolt motif from the Aladdin Sane era captures Bowie’s career journey, and the moment he finally put aside the props to emerge as an artist in his own right.

Available as limited-edition precious metal Proof editions and a standard Brilliant Uncirculated edition, the Brilliant Uncirculated edition is also available with three different slipcase covers, exclusively available from The Royal Mint and are a fitting tribute to the career of one of British music’s most enduring icons.
