The use of a horseshoe as a symbol of good luck dates back to early times when horses played an integral part in the life of many people. They were originally made of iron, a material that was believed to ward off evil spirits.

This importance is demonstrated by an ancient Turkish proverb: „A nail can save a horseshoe, a horseshoe a horse, a horse can save a horse rider, and a horse rider can save a country.”

Opinion is divided as to which way up the horseshoe ought to be nailed. Some say the ends should point up, so that the horseshoe catches the luck, and that the ends pointing down allow the good luck to leak out; others say they should point down, so that the luck is poured upon those entering the home.

But there is no doubt that this shaped 1 oz silver lucky charm with country style ornaments and Antique finish is the perfect gift. Only 2500 will be struck.

Vasa” was a Swedish ship, which was considered the most high-tech warship of those times. The story of what happened to the ship still remains a mystery among experts. Despite being one of the Swedish navy’s biggest achievements, Vasa sank within twenty minutes of setting sail, on this day in 1628. It claims 30 lives.

Engineering problems sank the ship – but this disaster has become a boon for archaeologists. In the XXI century, it was pulled from the bay and 98% of the ship’s original wood was still intact, making it the world’s best-preserved ship.

The remains of the ship can be found in Stockholm’s Vasa Museum. According to the museum, it is the only preserved 17th-century ship in the world, and the museum is a place for historical and anthropological study as well as for visitors from all over the world.

“The most spectacular warship ever built” is beautifully depicted on this coin.

The unique silver coins with cut Czech crystal are the result of a combination of traditional Jablonec crafts - the Czech Mint's medal making and Preciosa's glassmaking, which is unparalleled in the world. The Tree of Life has become a popular motif of the Crystal Coin gift line. The coins were quickly sold out and, due to great interest, are being reissued - for the third time - this time with summer crystal leaves and selective gold plating.

Trees give us oxygen to breathe, fruit to strengthen us, wood to warm and protect us, and last but not least, they are a delight to the eye and soul. Like a healthy tree, each of us should have deep roots, a strong trunk and a rich crown. It is no wonder that trees belong to the most revered symbols in the world and that significant trees can be found in most cultures around the world. For example, the Bible tells of the tree of knowledge, the apple tree, which was a symbol of undefiled humanity and whose forbidden fruit was tasted by Eve. Chinese mythology speaks, for a change, of the peach tree - its roots are guarded by a dragon, its crown is protected by a phoenix, and a single fruit, borne every three thousand years, ensures man's immortality. In the Norse sagas there is the Yggdrasil - the ash tree that grows through all planes of existence and represents the universe itself. Whether their meaning is religious, philosophical or folkloric, all these trees are expressions of the ancient concept of the “tree of life“, which symbolises the unity and interconnectedness of all creation.

The medal maker Petra Brodská, DiS., has dedicated the reverse side of the coin to the traditional depiction of the tree of life in a circular composition, with the tree's leaves formed by cut crystal stones. The Czech-English inscription bears STROM ŽIVOTA – TREE OF LIFE. As the coins of the Czech Mint are issued with the license of a foreign issuer, which is the island of Niue, their obverse side bears its necessary attributes - the nominal value of 2 DOLLARS (NZD), the year of issue 2021, the name of Elizabeth II and the portrait of the Queen surrounded by decorative branches.

The coin is issued in a limited edition of 1000 pieces and can serve as an original gift for many occasions. It is placed in elegant packaging that can simply be transformed into a practical frame for display.

In Live And Let Die, released in 1973, Bond investigates Dr. Kananga, a Caribbean Prime Minister intent on dominating the heroin trade. Played by Roger Moore, 007 pursues Mr. Big, the corrupt official’s alter ego, exposing himself to vicious assassins and voodoo magic. But the agent’s persistence pays off when Kananga’s inflated ambitions are dramatically blown to pieces.

The coin’s reverse depicts James Bond, the charismatic Secret Service agent. Based on an official movie poster, the design also represents a tarot card and a fiery explosion. Amaterasu Omikami is translated from Japanese as “Great Divinity Illuminating Heaven”. In Japanese mythology, Amaterasu is a celestial sun goddess and important Shinto deity. She symbolizes fertility and makes plants grow, which give life not only to humans but also to the gods. As the guardian of the Japanese people, she is represented by the emblem of the rising sun on the Japanese flag.

The coin wonderfully depicts Amaterasu, who is holding the mirror in her hands. This mirror reflects the divine origin of the sun goddess. Such decorations as an amber inset and gilding elements give a perfect touch to the design of this coin.

We can be proud of the Czech glass - our craftsmen became famous throughout the world and it still has the sound of a prestigious product with an exceptional quality of. Therefore it is entitled to the second issue of the series of silver coins representing the historical milestones in glass manufacture.

The first written mention of glass production in Bohemia dates back to the 1162. The most glorious period of Czech glassmaking, however, occurred in the 17th and 18th centuries, when the Baroque craftsmen made the first Czech crystal. Their extraordinary discovery overshadowed, until then, the unequaled Venetian glass (to which was dedicated the first issue of this series) and have gained an unrivaled position in the European markets. Although their secrets were eventually revealed, the Czech glass conquered the world. The Czech crystal chandeliers hung in the courts of rulers such as Louis XV., Maria Theresa or Elizabeth I Petrovna. Jablonec nad Nisou in North Bohemia played an important role in glass expansion, when at the end of the 19th century they produced 65% of the world’s production of glass jewellery. The field employed over 30,000 workers. The 20th century also began magnificently for the region, when for the year 1911, the Jablonec entrepreneurs handed over taxes to the Habsburg monarchy of the same amount as all the Crown land of Dalmatia put together. At the end of the 20th century, the glass Jablonec nad Nisou also became the city of coinage - it is now the seat of the Czech Mint.

The coin, prepared by the German company Numiscom in cooperation with the Czech Mint and the Jizera company Glass Pesničák, consists of two parts. The first takes the form of a ring minted from two ounces of pure silver. The reverse side of the ring bears the inscription BOHEMIA GLASS and the decorative motif performed in the style of Cubism of Prague. The obverse of the ring is dedicated to the attributes of the issuer of the coin - the emblem of the Republic of Congo, the year of issue 2016 and the nominal value of 1000 FRANCS CFA. The center of the coin then consists of glass of red color with a motive, which is a typical example of the skill of North Bohemian glass makers.

Thanks to authentic workmanship, no two coins are the same. A part of each coin are a refined frame and a booklet in English, which tells the story of this unique issue.

The most beautiful avenue in the World.

Linking the Concorde Place to the Arc of Triumph, the Champs-Elysées Avenue stretches over nearly 2 km in the heart of Paris. In the 17th century, Le Nôtre, Louis XIV's gardener, laid the first stones in this marshy area. It was then part of the ascent of what is known as "the most beautiful avenue in the world".
One of the must-see places to visit in Paris, the most beautiful avenue in the world welcomes about 300,000 visitors a day. The Champs-Elysées Avenue is full of culture and activities. You can admire the monuments, go shopping or vibrate during events. Every year, the avenue hosts the 14th July parade, the arrival of the Tour de France or the Christmas illuminations.
The Champs-Elysées are as lively by day as by night. Restaurants, shops, monuments and clubs are all jewels to be discovered and make this avenue a myth. To end the visit in beauty, the ascent of the Arc of Triumph offers a spectacular panoramic view of Paris.

The obverse shows a view of the Champs-Elysées towards the Arc of Triumph. In order to highlight Paris as a city of light, the most beautiful avenue in the world has been represented at night, when its trees are adorned with Christmas lights. The flame of the unknown soldier, which celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2020, shines at the foot of the Arc of Triumph. The Concorde obelisk is visible in the foreground and shows the angle of the shot.
In order to magnify this collection, the coins are decorated with selective gold deposits highlighting the illuminations.

The reverse is the common reverse of the Paris’ Treasures series. It offers a modern view of the map of Paris and its districts represented by small pyramids. Above the map of Paris is the name of the series. Below, the face value and the vintage are shown.

Celebrating US Independence History

• New technical feat High Relief on both sides

Starting in 2020, Monnaiede Paris will retrace the history of American Independence through a collectionof coins. The designs of the coins are directly inspired by historical productspublished by Monnaiede Paris: old medals from our archives. This sub-theme is part of the Great Dates of Humanity theme which began in 2019 with the fall of the Berlin Wall, the First Step on the Moon and the Dday.

In 2020, Monnaie de Paris began the series “History of US Independency" with the arrival of La Fayette in Boston. This year, we have decided to represent the arrival of Washington in Boston.

On the obverse, an undraped bust of George Washington facing right. Below the bust is the artist's name, "DuvivierParis F".

The engraving is taken from an old medalstruck by Monnaie de Paris, which gives the coin authenticity.
At the bottom of the coin is inscribed"COMITIA AMERICANA", which in Latin means "The American Congress". All around the coin, the inscription "GEORGIO WASHINGTONSVMPREMO DVCI EXERCITVVM ADSERTORI LIBERTATIS" is present, which can betranslated as "The American Congress to George Washington,General-in-Chief of the armies, the defender of freedom".

On the reverse side, we can see Washington, on Dorchester Heights, leading its four officers on horsebacktowards the city of Boston. To the right of the coin are a fort, cannons and cannonballs lying on the ground. Washington points to the British ships fleeingthe city.

At the top of the coin, the inscription"HOSTIBUS PRIMO FUGATIS" can be translated as "For the firsttime, the enemies are on the run »

At the bottom, we can see the inscription"BOSTONIUM RECUPERATUM / XVII MARTI / MDCCLXXVI" which can betranslated as "Boston taken over on March 17,1776".

The year 2021 as well as the Mintzmarkare visible at the bottom of the reverse.
