The Amazons. The legendary warrior women believed to live in various regions around the Black Sea, the Caucasus Mountains, and parts of Asia Minor. Highly skilled in archery, horseback riding, and combat, these maidens honed their weapons in a valiant effort to protect their lands.

As the embodiment of female power, the flower of the wild rose hip on the obverse symbolizes the Amazons courage and strength. Their adventurous lives inspire us to forge our own path — unyielding, unapologetic, and free.

Allow us to delight with the tale of the «Imperial Coronation Egg», a remarkable masterpiece crafted by the gifted Peter Carl Fabergé. This splendid creation marks the 5th edition of this extraordinary series and exudes the opulence of a bygone era.

In 1897, this Fabergé marvel was presented as a gift to the last Russian Tsarina of the Romanov dynasty in homage to the resplendent golden robe she wore during her coronation.
Crafted from a medley of multicoloured gold, adorned with dazzling diamonds, and graced with delicate Guilloche ornaments, this egg embodies the elegance of its time.

Today, this treasure, with a worth of approximately 18 million dollars, is in possession of Victor Vekselberg and is residing in the Museum of St. Petersburg, where the «Imperial Coronation Egg» captivates the hearts of all who visit.
But there is yet another exquisite secret concealed within the original – a detailed miniature replica of the coronation carriage.

Peter Carl Fabergé is a registrated trade mark of Fabergeé (UK) Limited (www.faberge.com) and is used with the consent of Fabergé (UK) Limited.”

In 1948, Belgium finally introduced universal women's suffrage. This made Belgium the last European country, after Greece and Switzerland, in which women were given a vote. The ladies could not effectively use this vote until the parliamentary elections in June 1949. Earlier, the focus of feminist movements was on general civil rights and equal opportunities in education; in other words the economic emancipation of women. On the political front, one of the main concerns was that women, more than men, would be influenced by their pastor when voting. On the coin itself, you will see the text 'ALGEMEEN VROUWENKIESRECHT SUFFRAGE UNIVERSEL FÉMININ' all around. Inside it, the Venus symbol as a voting box with a red pencil. Next to it: 75 JAAR ANS. Next to it, the country indication BE and the year 2023, below it the mintmaster's mark (an erlenmeyer flask with aster) and the privy mark of the Royal Dutch Mint (the Mercury staff). Bottom right 'IB' the initials of designer Iris Bruijns. The BU version in coincard shows the glee with which the acquired right to vote was announced in the newspapers 75 years ago and also shows women exercising their right to vote.

The New Year Coin 2024 is a special coin for a very special year. With 366 days instead of the usual 365, 2024 is a leap year and this limited-mintage coin is designed to remind you that the extra day should be enjoyed amid the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The extra day in a leap year keeps the calendar year synchronised with the solar year and thus with the cosmic order. You should accept it as a heavenly gift and treat it as an extra portion of luck. The extra day is a day with great potential on which you can allow yourself a little more ‘me time’, dedicate more time than usual to someone else, or do something you have always wanted to do. Or if you have resolved to tackle something completely new by the end of the year, why not use the extra day for that? Everyday life tends to demand a great deal from us without making any concessions, but that is not the case in 2024 when we are given a whole extra day to enjoy.

The reverse of the nine-sided coin is dedicated to the Gregorian calendar, which was introduced by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582 to bring the calendar back into line with the solar year. Pope Gregory XIII features on the right edge of the coin next to a large, flame-haired human manifestation of the Sun. Below the Sun is the calendar page for the month of February showing the 29th of February – the extra day. At the top is the zodiac sign Pisces, which corresponds to late February. The coin’s obverse shows the coats of arms of the nine provinces of Austria.

Experience one of nature’s most delicate moments, as a monarch butterfly circles around an aster bloom.

What a joy to spot this splendid creature! Delicate and graceful, the gorgeous monarch butterfly flits from one plant to the next, dancing merrily through the sky in search of the perfect flower—like the standout bloom on this coin’s interactive reverse. A monarch butterfly may travel up to 5,000 kilometres during its two-way migration, an astounding feat for one so small and fragile! It truly is a wonder to observe, both in nature and on this fine silver movement coin, as it selects one special flower out of the millions it has passed over.

Tilt the coin to make the monarch fly–the moment is fleeting and full of magic.
Your coin’s reverse features two 3D elements that have each been cast in sterling silver (92.5% pure): a rose-gold plated aster flower, and a gold-plated monarch butterfly (this is the species’ first appearance on a movement coin).
Tilt the coin and watch as the gravity-activated monarch circles around the aster flower. Both feature an incredible number of details – just look at the monarch’s wing pattern.
